John grew up in Houston, Texas. He attended the University of Texas at
Austin, attaining a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and History. He
received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law
in 1990.
John is licensed by the State Bar of Texas to practice
in all Texas Courts. He is also admitted to practice before the United
States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, as well as in the United States
District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western
Districts of Texas, the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas, the
District of Nebraska, and the District of Colorado.
John has tried nearly 50 cases to verdict, and has settled many hundreds of cases before trial.
John's
mediation training includes two 40 hours courses at the Harvard Law
School's Negotiation Project, as well as 40 hour courses at A.A. White
Dispute Resolution Center (University of Houston Graduate School of
Business) and the Harris County Dispute Resolution Center. John has
served as the mediator in hundreds of court-appointed and voluntary
mediations. John has served as a guest lecturer for the A.A. White
Dispute Resolution Center at the University of Houston Graduate School
of Business.
John was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He now lives in the Woodlands, Texas with his wife and children.
